Programming of all kinds
Share a meal, celebrate history, chat with guest speakers, and so much more:Nationally observed in May, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AAPIHM) is celebrated each April at Indiana University to ensure the entire campus and surrounding community can take part before the semester ends.
As part of IU’s ongoing tradition of honoring the rich history, vibrant cultures, and enduring contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders—while also recognizing the issues impacting AAPI communities here and across the diaspora—all are welcome to join us in commemorating AAPI heritage through a month of meaningful programs and engagement.
This free tutoring by volunteers focuses on vocabulary, grammar, basic survival phrases, and an introduction to cultural customs and background. Sessions are held in person at the ACC, and walk-ins are welcome.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us at acc@iu.edu.
Celebrate traditions and explore culture through events, festivals, film, and hands-on experiences.
With support from Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), the ACC offers mental health counseling for students from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays. You can pop in to meet with staff therapist for routine support and consultations. Students who want to meet for therapy are encouraged to make an appointment by calling CAPS directly at (812) 855-5711.
For emergencies or crises, call 911 or use the emergency walk-in service at the IU Student Health Center, fourth floor, 600 N. Eagleson Avenue.
Date: Mondays from 4–6 p.m.
Location: IU Asian Culture Center, 807 E. 10th Street
At the ACC, we offer a casual and informal mahjong experience, perfect for those looking to learn the game, take a break from the digital world, and most importantly, meet new friends in person. You do not need to be an expert to join us—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
