Funding and Awards

Explore funding and available award opportunities. These resources are designed to support student involvement, initiatives, and achievements connected to academic, leadership, and cultural experiences.

The purpose of the Asian Culture Center Community Engagement Fund is to encourage the development, production, and presentation of student-led events or campaigns. If you have a project and would like to apply for funding, we have two applications: one for student organizations and one for individuals. If you'd like to apply, please email acc@iu.edu for the application.

Established in 2006, the Distinguished Asian/Pacific American Alumni Award recognizes outstanding men and women who impact their local communities and the greater Asian/Pacific American community. The award also highlights those who exhibit excellence and achievement in their careers and inspire future IU alumni. By honoring our Asian/Pacific American alumni, we hope to inspire today’s students to strive for both personal and professional success. Learn more about the award.

The Asian Culture Center, with funding support from the Felix Chen Memorial Fund and the School of Education’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction, invites undergraduate and graduate students to submit proposals for lessons they would teach in an MCCSC classroom.

Proposed lessons should address one or more of the following topics:

  • Our nation’s cultural diversity
  • The challenges of living in a democratic, pluralistic society
  • The ethnic histories of our communities
  • Prejudice, discrimination, and/or stereotyping in our society

The Joon Park Student Leadership Experience Award exists to provide an IUB undergraduate student the opportunity to attend a conference or workshop focused on community engagement, community advocacy, and/or professional development. 

The successful candidate will receive a scholarship award of $1,000. ONLY OPEN to current IUB undergraduate students. The award provides an IUB undergraduate student the opportunity to use the funds toward:

  • attending a conference or workshop focused on community engagement or community advocacy
  • attending an academic conference or professional development workshop
