Our story
Established in 1973, La Casa/Latino Cultural Center serves as an important link and advocate between the university and the Latine community, working closely with other campus units, the Bloomington community, and state and national groups.
Building on a strong campus community, La Casa provides programming, support, and opportunities to foster a sense of belonging and pride for Latine students, while assisting in their academic, leadership, professional, and social development.
As part of the IU Bloomington Office of Student Life, La Casa provides resources and support to help students with their academic, personal, and social development needs. For many, La Casa is an integral part of their educational experience.
What we do
La Casa helps Latine students make a seamless transition to college, providing academic support, tutoring, cultural activities, and much more.
Preparing today’s learners for success requires multiple approaches that break through barriers and circumstances. We aim to ensure that all students have the access and support they need to learn, grow, and thrive at IU and beyond.
A cultural gathering place
La Casa is committed to serving as a space where culture and traditions can be celebrated and explored through programs and events. We represent a place where everyone in the community is welcomed and can find a sense of belonging.
All are welcome at La Casa, a vibrant gem within IU's cultural community, and we encourage visitors to discover its unique spaces designed to foster connection and belonging.
