Black History Month

Black History Month is a time to honor the achievements, contributions, and resilience of Black people throughout history and today.

Students dance together during a Neal–Marshall Black Culture Center event.

Honoring the past, shaping the future

Every February, we celebrate Black culture, heritage, and excellence through programs, events, and opportunities to learn, reflect, and become engaged in the community.

We invite students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to join us in recognizing the lasting impact of Black history and the vibrant contributions of Black communities at Indiana University and beyond.
